This treatment style is best suited to patients with multiple missing teeth, failing teeth, or an entire arch affected by tooth loss. In most cases, temporary teeth can be fitted within 24 hours, which allows patients to eat, speak and smile during the healing process.
For patients with severe upper jaw bone loss, zygomatic implants may provide a permanent alternative to extensive bone grafting. That's because these titanium implants are anchored into the cheekbone rather than the jaw.
Pterygoid implants are used in the back of the upper jaw. They can help avoid sinus grafting in suitable cases and are often combined with other implants for complex full-arch reconstruction.
Traditional custom dentures remain a popular option for some people, primarily because they are generally less expensive upfront. They also may suit patients who are not ready for implant treatment.

What is the difference between All-on-4 and All-on-X implants?
All-on-4® is a specific treatment concept where a full arch of teeth is supported by exactly four dental implants (usually two straight implants at the front and two angled implants at the back).
All-on-X is a broader term that means a full arch of teeth is supported by any number of implants, where "X" could be 4, 5, 6, 7, or more implants depending on the patient's bone quality, anatomy and treatment goals.
How many implants do I need for a full arch?
Most full-arch cases use four or six implants. That said, some require a customised number as determined during their treatment planning.
Can I get full mouth implants if I have bone loss?
Yes. Severe bone loss does not automatically exclude treatment. Instead, advanced solutions such as zygomatic implants may still be suitable.
